Sa Do Chan (Jang Geun Suk) is a genius con artist who dreamt of becoming a prosecutor. He happens to look exactly like prosecutor Baek Joon Soo (also Jang Geun Suk). The real Baek Joon Soo is attacked while on a case and hospitalized, to hide this Oh Ha Ra (Han Ye Ri) makes Sa Do Chan become Baek Joon Soo. Who knew that he would be great at catching bad guys?
Sa Do Chan is a famous con artist but has no priors. He’s intelligent and has managed to avoid law by choosing targets that can’t report him. Even though he is a great con man he has a soft heart towards those who need help. He is also hiding a dark past.
Sa Do Chan is a chatter box and has a cheery personality: completely opposite to the real Baek Joon Soo. Still, his history with law and sympathy towards others make him a great fake prosecutor. Despite Oh Ha Ra’s objections he goes around investigating cases in his own unique con man style.
Prosecutor Oh is the only friend Baek Joon Soo had. She used to follow him around (with a crush) but she is now trying to make a name for herself among prosecutors. To save Baek Joon Soo and their case she searches for Sa Do Chan and tries to look after him in the prosecutor’s office. To bad that his personality doesn’t appreciate being restricted in any way.
Now our bad guy is Geum Tae Woong (Jung Woong In). He is a CEO of a Spain Cultural Center and uses that as his front for drug smuggling. He is also connected to the attempted murder of Baek Joon Soo and to people higher up in society’s hierarchy.
Working together with Sa Do Chan / Baek Joon Soo is his trusted team consisting of Director Bong, So Eun Ji and Jung In Tae.
Well, I’m not a particular fan of any of the cast members (except Jung Woong In who I’m always happy to see in a villain role) nor is the ‘genius con man’ plot anything new, but Switch seems to be a good side-show to fill up my drama schedule. I just hope that there will be no romance here: it won’t fit with the drama. Switch: Change the World is not addicting nor does it strike me as a life changing drama yet it has its entertaining moments.
