Nam Shin (Seo Kang Joon) is an heir to PK Group. As a child he was forcefully separated from his mother Oh Ro Ra (Kim Sung Ryung). She is an expert in AI and in her sadness she builds an android (also Seo Kang Joon) with the face of her son to keep her company. When Nam Shin comes searching for his mother he gets into an accident and falls into a coma. The android Nam Shin III takes human Nam Shin’s place.
The human Nam Shin has grown bitter. He can’t stand his fiancée or his grandfather. He is a playboy but he cares deeply for his mother and hasn’t stopped looking for her.
Nam Shin III is a sweet boy. He loves his mother and helps around the house. He is smart and learns quickly. Nam Shin III can tell when someone lies and his rule is to always hug someone who is crying.
Nam Shin III is taught how to act like a chaebol heir: how to be rude, pompous and how to ignore others. Unfortunately he can’t erase his old habits such as saving people like he was programmed to do or hugging others despite his surroundings.
Kang So Bong (Gong Seung Yeon) worked as a bodyguard for the human Nam Shin before she was fired for taking secret pictures of him and selling them. She used to be a professional fighter but an injury ended her career.
She begins working for Nam Shin again after making a scene of herself. This time she isn’t just working together with a reporter but with Nam Shin’s rival, Seo Jong Gil (Yoo Oh Sung), who aims to take over the company and was behind human Nam Shin’s accident. However her heart begins to beat quicker when she is with Nam Shin III.
Nam Shin III works hard to maintain his appearances while missing his mother. He has to learn to survive in new surrounding where people want to take advantage of him.
Are You Human Too hasn’t been able to capture me. I liked the idea of an android taking the place of a human but the reality of the drama is different. The plotting and especially the female lead, Kang So Bong isn’t to my liking at all.
I can’t see any romance working between Nam Shin III / human Nam Shin and Kang So Bong. The story of this drama isn’t working for me even though I gave it a try. It’s just boring with characters that I find appalling.
