After an accident Tae Gong Shil (Gong Hyo Jin) has been able to see ghosts of dead people. They scare and bother day and night, leaving her a scared hermit. Joo Joong Won (So Ji Sub) is a CEO of Kingdom Mall. Successful yet closed off from everyone else because of a trauma from the past. The two meet one night and Tae Gong Shil realizes that when she touches Joo Joong Won, the ghosts disappear. She wants to get close to him.
The Master’s Sun is one of my ultimate favorite dramas. I love both Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub, their both my favorite actors, and having them together in this drama is pure heaven. No matter how many times I watch this, I always come back for another watch.
After almost dying Tae Gong Shil has seen ghosts. She lives closed off from everyone else out of fear of meeting ghosts and people thinking she is crazy and dragging her off to a hospital or police station.
After meeting Joo Joong Won she wants to get close to him so that she doesn’t see the ghosts. Unfortunately his prickly personality gets in the way but the sweet Kang Woo (Seo In Guk) is there to make Tae Gong Shil jittery.
Joo Joong Won is good looking and rich but after being kidnapped he has been alone. The most important thing to him is his mall and money. He loves to make a profit. He has a sharp mouth that loves to give Tae Gong Shil trouble.
Joo Joong Won: “If you are a sun I don’t ever want to see morning again.”
He thinks Tae Gong Shil is just an extremely weird woman and ignores her at first. After witnessing Tae Gong Shil seeing and talking to ghost and seeing how honestly scared she is, he starts to slowly believe that she just might be actually seeing ghosts.
Joo Joong Won becomes sure that Tae Gong Shil’s talent could be used to make money. He can find out secrets and money by using her, in turn he gives her what she so wants: his touch to escape the ghosts.
The two start to spend more time together as they find ghosts and solve their stories so that they can move forward. But is it possible that this sun could be able to save the master?
I love this drama. From the cast to the story and to the OST and back. Everything. It’s sweet, funny and entertaining. The ghosts’ stories are touching and the time Joo Joong Won and Tae Gong Shil spend together are the highlights for this story.
The great balance between a sweet girl and a rude male lead (one of my faves) is impossible to resist here. The slow thrill of the master and his sun (Taeyang means sun in Korean and its Tae Gong Shil’s nickname) slowly falling for each other still makes this one of my favorite dramas ever made.
